  • 1.  Prep work for developing a strawman schedule for DITA 2.0

    Posted 02-04-2020 15:36
Before I can develop a strawman schedule for DITA 2.0, I need to assemble a list of work items. We also have some volunteer roles that need to be (re)filled. Volunteer roles DITAweb coordinator : Alan Houser was filling this position. The work involves: Administering DITAweb Creating user accounts Resetting passwords Setting up DITAweb reviews Working with Congility as needed Proposal work items Issue 297 Allow <example> in more places . The stage three proposal was approved, but I don't implement the proposal as authored. I tried. The changes are more complex and internecine than anyone thought, I think. I suspect that the stage three proposal needs to be redeveloped, tested thoroughly, and reapproved. Issue 27 Multimedia domain . We need a new proposal that does not assume compatibility with DITA 1.3. Freeze date by which all proposals must be completed We have some proposals that must be in DITA 2.0, but are not yet complete. Off the top of my head, I think the multimedia domain and the loosening rules for attribute specializations are critical. We might want to sort current DITA 2.0 proposals into categories: Must have Nice to have Can fall off the table Freeze data by which no new proposals are accepted This should be decided based on the date by which all new proposals must be completed. Spec reviews of element reference content Based on working draft #11 , the last PDF that I generated for the TC on 27 August 2019, we need to conduct DITAweb reviews of the following content: TBD-- long list here, I think Spec development work items Editors need to edit the following topics/sections:
<bodydiv> TBD -- long list here, I think -- Best, Kris Kristen James Eberlein Chair, OASIS DITA Technical Committee Principal consultant, Eberlein Consulting www.eberleinconsulting.com +1 919 622-1501; kriseberlein (skype)

May I recommend adding dates for any and all white papers we expect to deliver as well? (Even though that really puts me on the hook.)
