  • 1.  BookMap Does not Integrate glossref Domain

In reviewing the glosslist element in BookMap I noticed that BookMap does not integrate the glossref domain, which came as a surprise. I think it would be appropriate to include glossref in the 2.0 BookMap update. Cheers, E. -- Eliot Kimber http://contrext.com

Hi Eliot, Maybe we can discuss it at the meeting tomorrow. I plan on doing work on the proposal this week. I see there is proposal for changing the default value for print on glossref for 2.0. I think if we move on adding glossref to bookmap, that particular proposal should depend on this one. I know usage of glossref, as is, in bookmap has been a pain point for a couple of customers. I don't see there being a need to make the two proposals dependent. That is, the glossary ref domain should be integrated with Bookmap regardless of whether or not we also correct the @toc problem, meaning that the current design of <glossref> is bad for all map types, not just Bookmap. In addition to simply integrating the glossref domain I think it would be appropriate to refine the definition of Bookmap's <glosslist> to explicitly allow literal representation of a glossary as well as being a signal to generate a glossary, which is what the current definition says.
