  • 1.  DITA errata template: Redlining issue

Folks, the template that we received from Paul Knight includes instructions to indicate any deleted text with strike through. (Thanks to Bob Thomas for carefully looking at the template and bringing this to my attention.) I've sent e-mail to Paul Knight and Chet Ensign basically saying "Hey, we can't do this; this is a Microsoft Word convention. We CAN provide a clear list of changes ...", but I have not yet heard back. Don't we have a line-through element? http://docs.oasis-open.org/dita/dita/v1.3/os/part3-all-inclusive/langRef/base/line-through.html#line-through Just sayin' --Scott

It's technically possible to comply even though it would be a colossal nuisance. My chief issue with strikethrough for deleted content is that it results in output that is difficult to read. I also argue that those who need this level information could always download the December 2015 DITA XML and diff it against the errata DITA XML.
