Scott, in this proposal you have a lengthy set of examples. Where in the current specification do you suggest placing them? I must agree with Kris on this one - moving all examples to an appendix would be a major restructuring of the spec, while right now we're struggling to contain all of the must-do changes and still get the spec out next year. All, what about creating a new topic that addresses how to mark up content for accessibility in DITA? Please see attached for an example of this topic. This way we do not “clutter” the table or entry reference topics. Attachment: accessibility.dita Description: accessibility.dita

Scott, at this point adding another topic to the spec is scope creep; if you wanted to do that, it should have been called out in the stage 2 proposal. I *do* think that adding a topic to the spec about accessibility would be a good enhancement, but I think it needs to wait for a future release -- and to cover more than tables. At this point, I'd suggest that you look at your current examples and pare them down. What you want to ensure they address is highlighting the new functionality: @rowheader in <table> and <colspec> @scope and @headers in <entry> You do not need the lengthy example about table headers; I think only the examples in tables 3, 4, and 5 are worth considering. Try to shorten the examples; preferably, build on the example currently in the <table> topic of the Language Reference. I hope that this helps. Scott, I recommend using all the examples for a feature article for the Adoption TC  JoAnn JoAnn Hackos Comtech Services Inc 710 Kipling Street Suite 400 Lakewood CO 80215   CIDM will be hosting the Content Management Strategies/DITA Europe Conference 2013 in Munich, Germany  November 18-19.  More information at: http://www.infomanagementcenter.com/DITAeurope/2013/index.htm On Nov 15, 2013, at 5:25 PM, "Kristen James Eberlein" < kris@eberleinconsulting.com > wrote: Scott, at this point adding another topic to the spec is scope creep; if you wanted to do that, it should have been called out in the stage 2 proposal. At this point, I'd suggest that you look at your current examples and pare them down.
