I do not know how many already use it, but I think T&L at least parts of it are really worth to have. I do not have experience with business customers but with educational publishers using T&L resp. specializations on it. And I have ideas about T&L. In my opinion on the one hand it’s too complex and on the other hand it does not offer all QTI types and more advanced interaction types which is a lack. I really would like to take care and help developing T&L for DITA 2.0 (if it does not have to be backwards compatible). So yes, I step forth to be part or even to lead the DITA 2.0 T&L subcommittee. The DITA TC is considering closing its learning and training subcommittee. The subcommittee was formed in 2006, developed the specializations that were introduced in DITA 1.2 (2010), and briefly came together again to do some bug fixing for DITA 1.3. However, given the absence of active leadership and participation, the DITA TC is considering closing the subcommittee. This would probably lead to the following: The learning & training specializations would not be part of DITA 2.0. The DITA TC would set up an OASIS Open GitHub repository to store the documentation source and grammar files. Time permitting, TC members would make changes necessary for the specializations to work with upcoming DITA release.
