    table/@orient and entry/@rotate are meant to follow and be compatible with their CALS equivalents. The CALS spec[1] states pretty unequivocally that it's 90 degrees counter-clockwise. <quote> ROTATE: Content is either in the orientation of the table (if the value is zero) or 90 degrees counterclockwise to table orientation (if the value is other than zero). If the table orient="land", rotate="1" achieves text ³upside-down² relative to the normally oriented page heads and feet. Declared Value = %yesorno; (NUMBER) Default = IMPLIED (interpret as ³0²) </quote> One could reasonably argue that this is a shortcoming in the CALS model, but that's a separate discussion.
