Dear OASIS EM TC Members -
I typically do not send out conference notices, but this is an excellent
conference. Also, I am on the Planning Committee for GeoWEB 2008.
This conference has emerged as one of the bright spots in the "Geo"
conference world due to the technical quality of the presentations, the
technical and management level of the attendees, and of course the venue. I
have been asked by the Conference organizers to extend the reach for the
call for abstracts to the EM standards community - hence this email.
GeoWeb 2008 is nearly here. GeoWeb 2008 is the only conference to deal with
the convergence of the Web and Geographic information Systems - a conference
of ideas - a place to network and build new business opportunities and
relationships. This year, GeoWeb 2008 will be the Davos of Geo - a meeting
place for leaders that are shaping the direction of geographic information
on the Web.
This year's GeoWeb features three invited speakers:
· Michael Kay (Saxon, XSLT, XQuery)
· Michael Goodchild (Santa Barbara - speaking on Data Quality)
· Kimon Onuma (speaking on BIM and conducting a Vancouver BIMStorm)
Keynotes from ESRI and Google and more to come.
Live camera feeds to GeoWeb on UTube.

International event - more than 22 countries represented in 2007
FYI, BIM stands for Building Information Modeling.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Building_Information_Modeling The OGC and
building information standards community (NBIM, BuildSmart) have been
collaborating for two years. One market driver for this collaboration is the
requirement to enable seamless integration of building information into EM
planning, response, and post event applications.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
