Subject: Reminder: Articles on CAP for jlocations issue

    Hi Folks,

I apologize for not getting this reminder-request out before the end
of the week. I had also hoped to be much farther along in the process
of putting together a set of articles supporting the CAP vote.

It occurred to me that in addition to Gary's description of the DMIS
CAP interoperaability program, Art's description of the recent
Congressional Demonstration, and Tom's report on his efforts in
CapWIN, it would also be a good idea for us to field a GIS report
relating to how CAP addresses such issues as the USNG-NAD83 or how
such specific code conversions can be made from WGS84 which CAP uses
and which assumes a global v. a national context. Also, should we
specifically say that such conversions will be or should be included
    in an Implementation Guide?

These articles are, after all, going into the jlocations newsletter,
and possibly the CapWIN newsletter so it seems appropriate, or
perhaps the lack of such seems very inappropriate.

It also occurred to me that we need to get this done pronto. So, if I
could ask for a volunteer for the GIS portion, it would be very
helpful. My own ability to sustain much writing is very constrained
due to this chromic tendinitis thing in my left hand. I'm wrangling
with the insurance issues to get some voice and speech recognition
capabilities, but that is going to take some time, much longer than
    we have in any case.

I wish this was the only writing project this impacts, but it isn't.
Sigh. Not much one can do but carry on as best one can.

    Ciao,
    Rex
