Yes, NCOIC is an OGC Alliance partner. We are actively working with NCOIC
on several fronts, such as aviation.
The list provided in the agenda for the OGC was partners that we work
directly and specifically on core standards development and not best practices,
use of standards in applications, and so forth. That said, NCOIC-OGC activities
are actually covered in other OGC Domain Working Groups.
Paul is on the OGC Technical Committee email list so he receives all of the
agenda announcements and other meeting admin material. But you could ask him if
there is any specific items he would like discussed with the OGC Members during
the Toulouse meetings. Carl S, Janet K, Sherly S, and Tim T are also listed as
NCOIC reps to the OGC.
Thanks for the info on Martine. I will have the EADS exec who is on the OGC
Board of Directors give her a call!
Thanks and regards
Carl

Subject: Re: [emergency] FYI: OGC
Emergency and Disaster Management Domain Working Group
Hi Carl,
Is NCOIC not an OGC Alliance Partner?
If not, should I suggest that at the upcoming NCOIC Plenary Sept.
27-Oct. 1, 2010?
In sub-bullet three, is "Emergency Response Core
Services" identical to NCOIC Net-Enabled Emergency Response Integrated Project
Team (NEER-IPT) "Core Services"?
is there a need for an NCOIC
representative to OGC? If there is one, can you give me that person's contact
info? I'm speaking with Paul Mangione this afternoon, is there anything you'd
like me to ask him?
I would suggest including NATO in this mix since
the Civilian-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) effort is a great deal more
important in Europe than here, not that it is unimportant here.
The
leader/lead author of the TSO is Martine Couturier of EADS. I would suggest
inviting her, and making sure that OGC-GML is included in her work with TSO
(Tactical Situation Object). OGC is not mentioned in the presentation on
it.
Cheers,
Rex
