Technical Advisory Board (TAB)

Greetings! I was disappointed today to learn that OASIS staff, despite their "concern" for meaningful participation in the TAB, reverted back to old habits with the groups.io software. Today was the first time I have heard it discussed or even considered and from what we saw, clearly OASIS has committed to its use, whatever pretense may be made about considering alternatives. All TAB members have deep experience in technology but aren't used very effectively. That was true under prior OASIS management and it appears, at least in recent experience, that is happening again. We all know the technical farces that are now spoken of in whispers too well to repeat them here. What is it structurally or otherwise that keeps OASIS from making use of volunteers on the very issues where OASIS needs them the most? The TAB can't fix whatever problem that may be but perhaps the board or new OASIS leadership can. I'm simply pointing out a resource that lays unused most of the time, except as cover for decisions already made. Why not incorporate TAB members in technical planning meetings outside of the usual TAB schedule? So that TAB members are *active* participants in technology discussions. TAB members don't need votes to point out wrong-headed technology options. Unless, of course, OASIS is "open" in name only. We all know the current status of technology at OASIS, all of which was discussed and chosen behind closed doors. Given that history, why not try openness? We could hardly do worse. Patrick, sorry and you bring up a good point. Groups.io came up quickly and I dropped the ball by not engaging with you all.
