New features for your review

  • 1.  New features for your review

Some of you may not have seen a few features we've quietly added to the
OASIS websites. You are welcome to investigate these and share your
    opinion, observations and comments.

    OASIS Search

All pages that share the header with www.oasis-open.org now have a quick
search link on the upper right. This is powered by a Google Custom search.
The result page of your search gives you a variety of options for further
    searching, filtering etc.

    Primary Rep Dashboard

An enhanced Primary Rep Dashboard (snapshot of all your employee activities)
has been added to http://www.oasis-open.org/members/company_tools/ and is
visible to all Primary Reps who look there. (If you are not a Primary Rep
and care to see this, I can give you access to one of my test accounts)
Note: The only practical way to completely test the dashboard is to run it
live. Early staff testing was done on a testing server, limited by lack of
live data. This current phase of testing is done live, so testers have the
benefit of seeing their real (current) data.

    Dashboard Next Steps

The Board is encouraged to test the Dashboard against your expectations.
Anyone who is not primary for their company and wished to see the dashboard
can login to one of our test accounts with username and password = webmaster

Neil continues to develop the "details" feature to add to the Employee
    Activity Summary page found at
    http://www.oasis-open.org/members/company_tools/dashboard/history/ While a
major undertaking, we still expect this can be added to the Dashboard this
    week.

The enhanced output for the Obligation Counter Summary
    http://www.oasis-open.org/members/company_tools/dashboard/obligation/ is
not expected until Q1 08. Until then, the Summary report will remain
    visible.

We expect feedback on the current toolset to guide us on next steps, new
features that would drive the next iteration. We have no current plans for
iteration past the next steps identified above.

    Formal Announcement Schedule

If no major problems are identified in the staff, ITC, Board and "invited
experts" testing, I plan on making a Primary announcement sometime January
7-10, or later if testing identifies issues to resolve or the need for
    greater testing.

Descriptions and benefits of this new tool will be added to our "How to be a
    Primary Rep" content.
