Greetings! Trying to get caught up (not ahead)! ;-) I have attached the updated standards abbreviation document, OASIS-Standards-Abbreviations-6Jan2012.pdf. There are six entries: The DocBook Schema Version 5.0 The DocBook Document Type DTD DocBook 4.1 (or, The Simplified DocBook Document Type) SOAP-OVER-UDP Version 1.1 WebCGM Version 2.1 WebCGM Version 2.0 which appear with yellow backgrounds to indicate they have changed since the previous draft. The footnote on the first page appears in red to signal an issue with the standards web page at OASIS that may or may not be correctly reflecting the status of DocBook committee work. The voting history on DocBook 4.5 ( http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/ballot.php?id=1109 ) says that it was approved. (15.33% of the membership but it still counts as approval) So, where is the OASIS standard version? No link to it from the standards page. BTW, is it true that we had *no* OASIS approved standards in 2011? I was doing a sanity check to see if I needed to update the standards abbreviation list. Did not fine any entries for 2011. I will try to post something informal about the abbreviation syntax, *going forward.* I think for past work, let's just close the door on it and move on. The academic in me hates that solution but we could spend a lot of time on work that is unlikely to be cited by anyone. I would rather spend my time trying to fashion rules that result in better work rather than correcting prior poor work. That is not to say that I don't expect the TC Admin to bust heads when necessary over the rules we do fashion. ;-) Members are paying for the opportunity to benefit from the OASIS community to produce high quality work. Higher than they can accomplish on their own. We are not serving their best interests if we allow less than their best (at our urging) to become committee specifications or OASIS standards. Sorry, didn't mean to preach. I have missed you guys! Hope everyone is at the start of a great new year!
