Hello TSC, With regard to updated process diagrams and text for PRD3, would it be possible to make changes to the text and give directions for the figures by entering notes on the current PDF snapshot attached? Jon Attachment: Pages from 20120202-opt-UBL-2.1.pdf Description: Adobe PDF document

Jon, You provided the pdf starting at 2.17 Intermodal Freight Management. We also have text updates for International Freight Management (2.16?) Other sections? Also, should we embed graphics in the comment as well? What about major chunks of update spanning more than one subsection? Andy

I've attached a version with 2.17. Please tell me if you know of other sections that might be affected. > Also, should we embed graphics in the comment as well? No, my thought was that you would give directions for the figures by entering notes in the PDF, as I suggested in my initial message. The figures themselves should be provided as EA files. > What about major chunks of update spanning more than one subsection? If the changes are too big to enter as comments, then I guess you'll have to give me a rewritten document. But I want you starting with the current text as shown in the PDF rather than falling back to some old version in Word, which is what I've had to work from when we've revised the TSC sections before; that approach works very badly. I can give you the current text as ASCII, HTML, or DocBook XML, but I was assuming that you'd rather work with the PDF. If you are going to give me completely rewritten text, I'd prefer to have it in ASCII. Or DocBook.... Jon >

Thanks John, TSC will work with the pdf version and include separate EA process diagrams. Andy

John, I have made changes to section 2.14 based upon a suggested input from Marco as a test of the process. I would like to know if this process of commenting on your base is a good approach for you to do your work. A question about the graphic (Fig 55 Initiate Freight Management Process). Since we now have a Transportation Status Request, wouldn't it be appropriate to include that as a request for status since he is likely to be more out of the flow after receiving the waybill if indeed he would receive a waybill. Maybe this is more appropriate for the TSC participants (eg Tim) should comment on. Andy

I know the method is tedious, but at this stage it's the only way we can keep things straight. > A question about the graphic (Fig 55 Initiate Freight Management > Process). > > Since we now have a Transportation Status Request, wouldn't it be > appropriate to include that as a request for status since he is likely > to be more out of the flow after receiving the waybill if indeed he > would receive a waybill. > > Maybe this is more appropriate for the TSC participants (eg Tim) > should comment on. Yes. I have no useful opinion on this. Tim? Jon
