    Hi,
I've been able to secure a free pass to the Burton event in San Diego. I am
    particularly interested in:

    *********************
Burton Group is hosting a single sign-on interoperability event [in San
Diego, July 27-31], focusing on hosted, SaaS or cloud-based applications as
the trend of utilizing off-premise applications continues in the enterprise.
This demo will illustrate how standards such as SAML, WS-Federation, OpenID,
and others can be utilized. Where supported, identity providers will also
demonstrate just in time provisioning of user access. Several hosted or SaaS
application participants have been identified, including SalesForce.com,
Google Apps, eXpresso Corp, WebEx, and others will be announced in the near
future. An advanced scenario is being developed that combines SAML 2.0 and
OpenID to meet NIST's Level 1 through Level 3 identity assurance guidelines.

    *********************

If anyone else is attending from our StC, I am happy to pass on this event.
I have done some checking and it would cost the MS 1.4 - 1.6K for me to
attend for the entire event. This would cover all expenses - it will
    probably be slightly less.

    Cheers,
    Dee

I am going if the OIDF or ICF are paying my way for the interop.
They are still thinking about it.

That would be great! There are several companies that are hosting
Hospitality Suites and they fit into KMIP/XRI/XDI/IMI, maybe ORMS. Could you
visit those companies on behalf of the MS?
If we applied 1.2K to your trip would that help?
    Best,
    Dee

I think I might be able to pass my free attendance to you, or do you already
    have a pass?

I will talk to the two groups and see what they can come up with to
reduce the cost to the MS.

I can visit those companies on behalf of the MS.

I have confirmed with the ICF that they will kick in some money.
The OIDF is probably good for some as well.

From looking around it looks like flights and hotel for the 5 days
(Concordia is all day Monday) will be about $1,500.

If I can get $1,000 from the MS I can get the rest covered by the
    foundations.

So let me know if you want me to go and do Dee's arm twisting for her.
