Hi John,
I know that there won t be a lot of time. I just wish there was a way, through a single chart, to weave the relevance of our IDtrust standardization platform with the various other efforts out there, including cybersecurity ones. I don t
know how to create that story, although I was/am hopeful that the secure QR code angle could start the discussion.
On a separate note, again with the hope of pushing OASIS as the requisite Go To place for all things identity , there might be an opportunity to create an effort to standardize identity validation parameters for Data Subject Requests (being
enabled by the California, Virginia, Colorado privacy laws etc.). For instance, some companies ask for copies of a driver s license (because they fear acting on a fraudulent request) which, in essence, is asking the individual for a heck of a lot more personal
information that they probably ever gave that company in the first place. There are commercial entities doing identity resolution, but they all have differing approaches. When it comes to a company proving that they had performed the requisite due diligence
to validate the individual, there currently is no rule regarding what s Good Enough. Just a thought, albeit it wouldn t entice the cybersecurity (potential) members. But it s that kind of positioning that I wish we could pull off: go to OASIS when something
identity+ needs aligned across multiple approaches. I don t know enough about what might ever get standardized vs. what still would be valid as an OASIS recommendation/profile etc. If this is at all worth discussing, please let me know. I just feel like there
are opportunities out there .
Have a great night,
Michele

Michele,
Thanks. I definitely need PowerPoint usable content to include both overview of current OASIS initiatives (TC s plus open source), membership updates, etc., from jane and Dee, and slides focusing on QR and probably the OASIS cyber security
standards work etc. I will handle the privacy related parts. Talk is 50 minutes, and as I understand it, the goal is to make OASIS visible to the audience and market the value of the OASIS standards dev model. My experience with ISO (it has been positive)
with its lengthy processes for standardization will be a counterpoint argument for the value of OASIS more efficient collaborative model.

I just checked dates again, and it looks like Alan is traveling on July 21, not June. So I would be able to speak on June 21 pre-conference day unless some else would like to present. I (or whomever speaks) will need slide content and
I would also need to request IDTrust travel support for airfare and hotel.

Great opportunity I wish I could volunteer, but Alan will be way that week. Looks like excellent opportunity. IDTrust SC could create ballot to cover travel expenses. I can can provide content for the speaker to use covering the privacy-identity
linkage and importance of the OASIS standards dev process.

Any ideas on who might be willing to attend on our behalf? It's at the end of June in Denver.
Please let me know. Thanks, Jane

I agree with Abbie. Plus, this would be a good opportunity to determine how best we position all of our efforts in this identity space so that we can get maximum cross-pollination when you are at the cybersecurity-type events. I would like
to work on the QR code display-board that could/would ideally highlight all of our identity efforts.

This would be part of a marketing barter. No cost for us to present. Travel would be a cost for someone to speak at the event. Jane

Hi Folks,
I know this is short notice -- but any interest in having something at this event? It's the identity event to attend in the US.
Please let me know. Thanks, Jane

Hi Jane
Sorry it took me a little longer than I had hoped to get back to you.
However: there is a reasonable (say, 60%) chance that I can find a space for an 'oasis and identity' update during our pre-conference time on Tuesday 21 st June. The session would be 50 minutes
long, so would provide sufficient time to provide an overview (for those who aren't familiar) of what OASIS is and how it works, and some of the other work OASIS is involved in, and then a deeper dive into the specific identity (and maybe security as well)
areas in which OASIS has activity; and maybe a finish-up with 'here's how to get engaged'?
Please let me know as soon as possible ideally today if that might work; and we'll go from there.
Thanks!
