FYI, I am an active participant on the Science & Technology -
Information Security Committee (ST-ISC) of the ABA.
There has been an interesting thread of conversation that began
a couple days ago, and rapidly moved towards the creation of a
working group to do something unusual. This has implications
for OASIS and IDtrust.
I am forwarding the e-mail thread to you all - one message at a
time so you can review what was discussed.
The ST-ISC usually meets the weekend before RSA and this year
the meeting is scheduled for April 5th and 6th in SFO. If any
of you are planning to attend RSA and can come in on the Friday
evening (April 4th), I would encourage you to attend this
meeting because some very interesting things might come out of
this.
John, your particular involvement with the DHS and the Federal
government would come in very useful in this discussion and
working group. Please let me know if you can attend this
session if you are coming for RSA.
The following question from one of the lawyers who is writing a
book started the discussion. More e-mails to follow.
