Dee,
It's time to get ready for IIW9 (2009B). We'll hold IIW9 on Nov 3-5, 2009
in the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA. IIW8 (2009A) in May
was the best ever and we'd like to repeat that in November. I'd like to
invite you to have IDTrust sponsor one of the meals (or breaks) at IIW in
November.
We know that marketing dollars are tight, but helping IIW makes possible one
of the most effective venues for promoting and developing Web-site
independent identity systems like OpenID and Information Cards. To help
make your help possible, we've kept the costs of sponsorships unchanged from
last time.
Past IIW events have proven to be an effective tool for building community
in the Internet identity space. Much of that success can be attributed to
the support we've gotten from sponsors. Sponsorships allow us to keep the
cost low and still provide very valuable opportunities for conference
participants to interact over food.
Here is a list of possible sponsorship opportunities:
* Morning Break, Nov 4 & 5 ($1000 each)
* Afternoon Break, Nov 3, 4, & 5 ($1000 each)
* Lunch on Nov 3 ($2000)
* Lunch on Nov 4 & 5 ($3000 each)
* Barista and Coffee Bar, Nov 3, 4, & 5 ($800 each day)
* Pre-dinner Drinks, Nov 3 ($1000)
* Tuesday Dinner, Nov 3 ($5000)
* Pre-dinner Drinks, Nov 4 ($1500)
* Conference Dinner, Nov 4($7000)
* Documentation Center ($1000)
You'll get recognition on the workshop Web site, via a sign at the workshop,
and verbal thanks. We'd also be happy, of course, to comp a workshop
registration for break sponsors, two for lunch and dinner sponsors. Most
important, you'd have the thanks of the community for supporting what has
become a very useful event for promoting the cause of Internet identity.
We're interested in engaging with sponsors to find out how you think IIW
could be improved and what kinds of conversations you'd like to have during
the event. Kaliya will be working on that over the next several weeks. You
should expect to hear from her soon.
Let me know what you'd like to do as soon as you can. It helps us a lot if
you can commit early.
