Hi John, Since I won't attend F2F here you are with my note. I think phase-name attribute is an optional attribute of the <trans-unit> or <target> elements. The <alt-trans> element contains <target> element so this is the reason why the phase-name attribute can appear within the <alt-trans> element. By my opinion there is no rational use of the phase-name attribute along with the <alt-trans> element and <alt-trans> attribute should always contain just an alternative translation (e.g. pre-translated material) and not the old version since there is no reason to track changes in alternative translations. The tool should ignore phase-name attribute if it is used as an attribute of the <target> element that resides inside the <alt-trans> element. Please let me know your opinion. The thread is http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/xliff/200210/msg00005.html ([xliff] Thought) and http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/xliff/200210/msg00009.html . We may want to clear up this issue in our F2F. cheers, john ---------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe or unsubscribe from this elist use the subscription manager: < http://lists.oasis-open.org/ob/adm.pl >
