Trying this again since I didn’t see any response to this.   From: office@lists.oasis-open.org <office@lists.oasis-open.org> On Behalf Of Alfred Hellstern Sent: Thursday, January 16, 2020 3:45 PM To: ODF TC List <office@lists.oasis-open.org> Cc: Rich McLain <richmc@microsoft.com> Subject: [office] Editorial issues in current ODF 1.3 text   Patrick et al., Here are the issues I found when going deeper into some of the JIRA issues and comparing them against the text and the list in Appendix G.   I used “OpenDocument-v1.3-csprd02-part3-schema-no-material-changes-01.odt” (from “odf1.3-csd02-editor.zip" sent on 12/15) as the document to compare against.   Alfred       Per https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-3868 , references to RFC4288 are to be replaced with references to RFC6838. Appendix C still contains a reference to RFC4288 Also, [MIMETYPES] is found as a reference in both the normative and non-normative sections     Relating to https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-3695 : The number:fraction element did exist in 1.2, but is listed in Appendix G under New Elements (in some earlier drafts it was listed in both sections)     meta:creator-initials https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-3776 is listed in Appendix G on the same line as dr3d:scene, should have a line break in front of it. Also, this is listed under Changed Elements, but didn’t exist in 1.2, so shouldn’t it be listed under New Elements?     Per https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-3857 , We’re introducing style:scale-to-X and style:scale-to-Y. The JIRA issue mentions “ Update: <style:page-layout-properties>, style:scale-to and style:scale-to-page sections should be updated, too, with the new style:scale-to-X and style:scale-to-Y attributes. ”   This results in these changes Adds this attribute to the attribute list of <style:page-layout-properties> 17.2   in 20.352 (ODF 1.2 = 20.344) < style:scale-to>, changes: If this attribute and style:scale-to-pages are absent, a document is not scaled. To: If style:scale-to, style:scale-to-pages 20.353, style:scale-to-X 20.354 and style:scale-to-Y 20.355 attributes are absent, a document is not scaled   In 20.353 (ODF 1.2 = 20.345) <style:scale-to-page>, changes: If this attribute and style:scale-to are absent, a document is not scaled To: If style:scale-to-pages, style:scale-to 20.352, style:scale-to-X 20.354 and style:scale-to-Y 20.355 attributes are absent, a document is not scaled.   Should these changes to 20.352 and 20.353 not separately be tracked by an entry in Appendix G: Changes from 1.2? Just like the changes for 3923 are listed twice?       office:process-content (deleted) https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-4034 Is listed twice in the appendix, once under Changed Attributes and once under “Removed elements, attributes and values”     17.15 <style:table-properties> The <style:table-properties> element specifies formatting properties for tables. The <style:table-properties> element is usable within the following elements: <style:default-style> 16.4 and <style:style> 16.2. The style:page-number attribute is usable with the following elements: <style:paragraph-properties> 17.6 and <style:table-properties> 17.15.     https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-3945 For text:anchor-type, the first proposed change doesn’t seem to have been implemented   A Change first paragraph to: The text:anchor-type attribute specifies how a drawing shape is bound to a text document. Alfred   OFFICE-3868: I agree with both your points. In Appendix C the reference to RFC 4288 needs updating to refer to RFC 6838, and the [MIMETYPES] entry in 1.4 should be removed. Also, I notice in passing that the column widths of the tables in Appendix C need to be adjusted so that the filename extensions in the second column don’t break over two lines.   OFFICE-3695: I agree. The entry should be moved to the next list (elements that have changed).   OFFICE-3776: I agree. The formatting of the list of changed elements needs tidying up: blank lines need to be removed from the list and a meta:creator-initials should be on its own line.   OFFICE-3776: I agree. The changes to <style:update-page-layout-properties> (17.2) should be listed in Appendix G under elements that have changed. The changes to attributes style:scale-to (20.352) and style:scale-to-pages (20.353) should be listed in Appendix G under attributes that have changed.   I notice in passing the following minor formatting issues:   In 17.1 there is a blank bulleted list item, which should be deleted. In 20.352 there is a double space after ‘If’ at the beginning of the second paragraph.   Double spaces should be reduced to one space in the following places where they occur mid-sentence (I’ve ignored double spaces between sentences and some other less odious occurrences):   Table 3, row 2, column 2, between “from” and “elements” 2.2.1, D.1, between “conform” and “to”. Also, for consistency, remove blank line above “C)” on same page. 2.2.1, D.3, between “value” and “has” 5.3.6, second paragraph, between “5.3.1” and “element”. 5.4.1, first paragraph, between “or” and “text” 16.2, ninth paragraph, between “parent” and “styles”. 19.15.1, list item “chart:area”, third paragraph, between “the” and “order”. 19.15.1, list item “chart:stock”, second paragraph, between “<chart:stock-gain-marker> and “11.20”. 19.107, list item “matrix”, between “values” and “(<j>”. 19.142, between “attributes” and “of” 19.211, second paragraph, between “secondary” and “circle”. 19.218.2, list item “linear”, between “linear:” and “defines”. 19.373, between “<text:_expression_>,” and “<text:user-field-decl>”. Table 15, heading, between “Table” and “15”. 19.472, list following fourth paragraph, item “numberValue”, between “[xmlschema-2]” and “decimal”. 19.472, final paragraph, between “by” and “Table 16”. 19.600, second Note, between “9.4.5” and “element”. 19.856, between “attribute” and “19.857”. There is a full-stop missing after “19.857”. 20.47, first paragraph, between “the” and “chart:regression-moving-type”. 20.47, second paragraph, second sentence, between “Let” and formula. 20.122, list item “true”, between “draw:fill-color” and “20.119”. 20.230, second paragraph, between “overflow” and “text”. 20.349, list item “distribute-space”, between “a” (which should be “an”) and “amount”. 20.360, first paragraph, between “content” and “already”. 20.405, list item “false”, between “paragraph” and “whenever”. 20.405, list item “true”, between “paragraph” and “whenever”. 20.418, first paragraph, between “shape” and “is”.   Other nits:   General: The style ‘Text Body’ used to have 1.4 mm above and below the paragraph, but has none in the CS. I think that the style properties need to be checked. 4.3.1, third paragraph, remove open double quote at end (this was in ODF 1.2. 4.3.2.12, change “a IRI” to “an IRI”. 7.4.1, list item “User variables”, first paragraph, remove space at start of paragraph. Table 10, first row, column 4, change “a ellipse” to “an ellipse”. Table 10, several rows, column 4, change “a implied” to “an implied”.   Francis     From: office@lists.oasis-open.org <office@lists.oasis-open.org> On Behalf Of Alfred Hellstern Sent: 24 January 2020 00:43 To: office@lists.oasis-open.org Subject: [office] FW: Editorial issues in current ODF 1.3 text   Trying this again since I didn’t see any response to this.   From: office@lists.oasis-open.org < office@lists.oasis-open.org > On Behalf Of Alfred Hellstern Sent: Thursday, January 16, 2020 3:45 PM To: ODF TC List < office@lists.oasis-open.org > Cc: Rich McLain < richmc@microsoft.com > Subject: [office] Editorial issues in current ODF 1.3 text   Patrick et al., Here are the issues I found when going deeper into some of the JIRA issues and comparing them against the text and the list in Appendix G.
