    OpenDocument TC coordination call  minutes 2008-02-04 (as amended and approved in 2008-02-11 TC meeting)

    * Rollcall
    Mingfei Jia, IBM
    Robert Weir, IBM
    Patrick Durusau
    David Wheeler
    David Faure, KDE e.V.
    Florian Reuter, Novell
    Bob Jolliffe, South Africa Dept. of Science & Technology
    Michael Brauer, Sun Microsystems (presiding)
    Eike Rathke, Sun Microsystems
    Oliver-Rainer Wittmann, Sun Microsystems

    * Minutes from 2008-01-28 coordination call:
    http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/office/200801/msg00038.html

    The attending TC members unanimously accepted the minutes.

    * Action Items
    - (Not completed) Work continues on defining the default values.  Ma Yue
    is working on collecting values from Lotus Symphony.  -- Rob and Helen
    to follow up with Ma.

    - (Completed) Oliver is working on text field proposal: Status is below

    - (completed) Feedback is being sought from David Faure

    - (completed) bullet lists with constant strings: Status is below.

    - (in progress) Florian will check with Ecma to see if disposition of
    DIS 29500 comments regarding date counting conventions can
    be made public and sent to the ODF TC: Florian reported that the
    disposition of these comments can be made public, but the comment
    numbers mentioned by Rob seem not be related to date counting
    conventions. Rob will follow-up with Florian to find the proper comment
    numbers.

    * WG effort in DIN on defining a mapping between ODF 1.0 and Ecma-376

    Rob has send a couple of questions to the WG to get a more information
    about the effort. The TC will await the answers of the WG before
    continuing the discussion.

    * Accessibility Guidelines Document

    The Accessibility Guidelines document currently has not conformance
    clause section, which all documents for which a Committee Specification
    ballot is conducted must have. For informative documents like
    accessibility guidelines, it is however sufficient if the conformance
    clause section states that there are no conformance clauses.

    The TC unanimously agreed to add the following Conformance clause section:

    "This document is intended to be an implementation guide, and contains
    no formal conformance clauses."

    * Proposals, as listed at
    http://wiki.oasis-open.org/office/OpenDocument_v1.2_Action_Items#head-d117ebdb1531adf3aa1dbb5fb619a2298f88ac0e

    - text input field:

    The proposal has been withdrawn by Oliver and Florian, but they intent
    to submit a more general proposal for fields for a post ODF 1.2 version.

    To simply the discussion, it was suggested to have a Wiki page where
    post ODF 1.2 ideas may be discussed

    (new action item) Michael to set up a Wiki page

    - source tables for charts
    The current proposal to have a xlink:href attribute which allows
    references into the current package seems to be sufficient:

    http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/office/200801/msg00029.html

    A voting on this proposal may take place in the next meeting.

    - Chart legends

    The current proposal to allow text:p elements within the chart:legend
    element seems to be sufficient:

    http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/office/200802/msg00001.html

    A voting on this proposal may take place in the next meeting.

    - Bullet lists with constant strings

    ODF supports bullet lists with constant strings by setting the numbering
    prefix to the constant string value, and a numbering format "no-number".
    An enhancement for for ODF 1.2 therefore is not required.

    - Automatic Style Names

    The current proposal is ambiguous regarding the use of the term
    "document". Michael will revise the proposal.
