I guess you refering to 


I guess this made it into ODF1.0, right?
Any chance you can help me finding the appropriate section in the ODF spec, because I'm not sure I understand the above bullet points. Is there more information available?

Yes, that's correct.

Yes, that's the case.

In ODF 1.0 its section 15.16.7.
In ODF 1.2 draft 6 it is section 16.16.8.
