    Dear TC members,

According to Dennis and Warren's suggestions, the wording for this proposal has been updated. Thanks Dennis and Warren. Also the wiki link is updated below:

Please indicate that "read-only" and "edit" are the only spec-defined
preferred view modes that are applicable to all mime types. Please
indicate the presentation-slide-show is only applicable to
    presentations.

Also, please improve the sentence that says, "This attribute is only
applicable to the root file entry with the full path '/'." Also, add a
space between the period of that sentence and the first letter of the
    next sentence.

Also, could someone more in the know comment on the use of "MIME type"
    vs. "mime type" vs. "mime-type."

Also, a short description of each spec defined preferred view mode
would be nice. "Edit" and "read-only" are pretty trivial, but a
    description of presentation-slide-show should exist.

    Thanks,
    wt

    RECOMMENDATION

The document-repository ODF version is very different in form (as a markup
of the relevant sections of the ODF spec) than the wiki version which simply
proposes the addition and its text.

I have confirmed that the proposed wordings for the Preferred View Mode
    attribute are identical.

I recommend that text about anything but the Preferred View Mode be removed
from the from the wiki and the ODF versions to make it clear what the final
approved proposal is and so an observer will not be confused by the presence
    of alternative options.

     - Dennis

PS: What was confusing for me during the call is that I was using the first
link, the one to the wiki format of the proposal text. I had been using the
wiki form as definitive because I can open them from links in the agenda and
I didn't realize that is not the official one. I'm learning. Thank you for
your patience. Now, It is even more confusing that the download area not
only removes the extension from files, but it uses mysterious filenames as
well. I already had a copy of the ODF but I could not remember the name of
it! (The enabling of ODF in my browser doesn't seem to have worked.) In
the future, I will arrange to have the document-repository versions handy so
I can look at them quickly during the call. I will also pay attention to
how proposal numbering is used in identifying and dating proposal documents.
    Sorry for the confusion.

Whatever the document repository ODF version or the wiki, and whatever the description text or the schema, all the modified contents are highlighted in order for members to read. For each proposal, the contents except the proposal itself are all about the context in the referred ODF specification, which is helpful for members to quickly understand the proposal.

Yes, agreed. I am only concerned for the text that specifies the
changes/additions that constitute the actual proposal.

    Yes,

Michael is right, the alternative solution should be removed since it is not used at all. Dennis, sorry, in the reply mail, I forget that the alternative solution description is extraneous now.
