Congratulations to TC members for reaching the next (and penultimate) milestone for OASIS ODF 1.2 ! From the new metadata framework, to accessibility improvements, to OpenFormula to the massive editorial task of making the spec ISO-comformant, this much-awaited revision of Open Document Format already has high adoption rate today. I hope this presages even greater success once it is finally approved and published. Everyone, enjoy the weekend, then back to ODF 1.3 proposals! -Rob ----- Forwarded by Robert Weir/Cambridge/IBM on 06/24/2011 11:10 AM ----- Robin Cover <robin@oasis-open.org> wrote on 06/23/2011 09:09:09 PM: > From: Robin Cover <robin@oasis-open.org> > To: OASIS OpenDocument TC List <office@lists.oasis-open.org> > Cc: Robin Cover <robin@oasis-open.org>, Chet Ensign > <chet.ensign@oasis-open.org>, Paul Knight <paul.knight@oasis-open.org> > Date: 06/23/2011 09:29 PM > Subject: [office] 60-day Public Review for OpenDocument Version 1.2 (COS) > > The OpenDocument Version 1.2 specification produced by > the OASIS Open Document Format for Office Applications > (OpenDocument) Technical Committee [1] is now entering > 60-day COS public review in preparation for member > ballot to consider approval as an OASIS Standard: > > Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) Version 1.2 > Candidate OASIS Standard (COS) 01 > 10 May 2011 > > In addition to the prose Overview document, the > specification is comprised of the following parts: > > OpenDocument v1.2 Part 1: OpenDocument Schema > OpenDocument v1.2 Part 2: Recalculated Formula (OpenFormula) Format > OpenDocument v1.2 Part 3: Packages > OpenDocument v1.2 Relax NG Schema > OpenDocument v1.2 Manifest Schema > OpenDocument v1.2 Digital Signature Schema > OpenDocument v1.2 Metadata Manifest Ontology > OpenDocument v1.2 Package Metadata Manifest Ontology > > Members of the OpenDocument TC have approved a Special > Majority ballot to advance OpenDocument v1.2 Committee > Specification (CS) to Candidate OASIS Standard (COS) level, > and have met all the requirements of the TC process for > a COS Submission [2].
