[The following announcement is being sent on behalf of the organizers of the Key Management Summit. OASIS is a co-sponsor of this Summit.]     After a long period as a fringe technology, cryptography has emerged as a vital tool to protect critical customer data and satisfy regulatory requirements. Of course, once you have that data protected, key management is a mandatory part of any security and operations strategy. The Key Management Summit is the best place to learn about: Where data security standards are going What top encryption researchers envision for the future The current state of the industry, with a focus on the cloud The Summit will be a small gathering where attendees can have in-depth discussions with the leaders who are driving the standards, doing the research, and building the products. This year, the Summit will take place at Asilomar, a historic retreat center on the Monterey Bay, along the central California coast, with lodging and dining on site. Monterey, Carmel, and Pacific Grove are minutes away, and the dramatic Big Sur coast is a short drive south.
