All—my apologies to Mary Ann. Toby said she has been
planning on leading this and in that case I nominate her as well. I was
thinking she would not be so directly involved, but she has obviously been the
leader in moving OpenADR to its current success and positioning it for
nationwide use. Please forgive my faux pas.
Thanks,
David
Greetings All,
I would like to nominate Ed Koch and myself as co-chairs of the
EI TC. Ed because he has been a key proponent and technical lead with the
industry perspective and personal motivation. My role would be to align the
effort with the NIST SG standards program, and to help with industry acceptance
(as a neutral NIST person). This is an important standard in the NIST roadmap
for DR signaling for C&I, but also I think for residential down the road.
We have very strong pressure to move this forward and make it acceptable for
use nationwide. OpenADR also directly influences building automation standards,
and we need to have a cooperative effort with BACnet, LON, Zigbee/Homeplug, and
the industrial sector. I have served as the lead of the BACnet Utility
Integration WG, as well as of the NIST B2G DEWG.
Thanks,
David

Subject: Indications of Candidacy for TC Chair(s)
To all prospective members of
the OASIS Energy Interoperation TC:
The first order of business at the inaugural TC meeting on 22 June will be to
elect a chair (or two co-chairs). All individuals interested in serving as a
Chair, or in nominating another individual for the position of Chair, are
welcome to make that candidacy known, prior to the meeting, by posting a note
to the TC's e-mail list expressing their interest and/or intent along with a
brief statement of their qualifications. However, this is not required, and the
committee will be open to nominations from any qualified persons at its first
meeting as well.
Regards,
Mary
