We plan to use (8) laptops during the
demo. It is not possible to use only (1), because of the diversity of operating
systems, and software. The access to the Internet is critical for all.
We found the Wi-Fi signal too weak and unreliable in our tests yesterday,
and that is why we are asking for Ethernet LAN support to the Internet.
We will begin our rehearsal at 15.20 hrs. today, and hope to meet
you at that time.

If you want to use the ethernet cable connection, we have to send the laptops
MAC Address to the CEU. Please, send me the MAC Address of the laptops.
How many computers do you want to use at the same time?
The wireless network in TIGY is password protected. The network name is
tha same laptop_area and the password is nador11access. The audience can
also access to the wireless network. I'm going to test the wifi in this
morning.

Hello Peter and Jerry,
I apologize for sending email at this hour. A good number of the ODF Interop
team assembled in TIGY at CEU, Nador 11 this afternoon at the time you
allocated for us (17.20 hrs.) We very determined that the internet service
is not adequate in its current state.
Therefore, we ask for your urgent attention to resolve these requests.
Specifically:
1. the Ethernet cable connection be opened up to permit access
to the Internet. The ports are currently blocked. This is very important.
For example, the IBM portion of the demonstration must be able to easily
access the internet, the use VPN tunnel to access servers inside IBM. Other
presenters have similar requirements. The current connection is blocked.
(...the wi-fi is too weak, so we are choosing to depend on the Ethernet
connection therefore we request: We tried the Wi-fi in Nador 11 and found
the signal too weak and unreliable. It dropped frequently. We determined
it is not adequate to support the demonstrations as a result.)
2. a router be provided; if a router is not available, will
CEU permit us to provide one? We need to streamline the number of laptops
that must be connected at the same time to the internet.
3. (2) power strips to enable us to plug in to the electricity
4. fresh markers for the white board (the markers in the
room were nearly exhausted); we can purchase new markers, if you wish.
Please advise me tomorrow.
We have (8) demonstrators who need to step to the podium and deliver a
their brief presentation and demonstration, one after the other with a
minimum of disruption. This is why we are asking for the router.
We thank you for your urgent attention to these requests. Without your
support we will not succeed with our demonstration(s).
