Welcome to the new OpenDocument - Advanced Document Collaboration
    Subcommittee!

We have some important work to do in this new subcommittee, and it is
good to see a good number of representatives from different
organisations. I will do my best to move things forward at an
appropriate speed, and to this end I suggest that we have an initial
conference call next Wednesday, 15 December at 14:00 hours GMT. I will
post details of an agenda and phone numbers to call in the next few days.

After that initial conference call, and based on comments from members
of the subcommittee, I will put together a road map to guide our work
and concentrate our efforts in the right areas.

I anticipate that we will work through the e-mail list and with a
conference call every 2 to 3 weeks. Our processes will not need to be
as formal as that of the technical committee, because all of our work
will need to be approved by the TC in order to progress further.

Thanks to all of you for volunteering to take part in this subcommittee,
and I look forward to working with you.

    Best regards,
    Robin

  • 2.  Timing of ODF ADC Subcommittee

    Posted 12-07-2010 20:18
14:00Z is 06:00 -0800, my local time. I will not be regularly participating
on new calls scheduled to be held that early.

Also, the time slot collides with potential calls of SC34 WG6 (on ODF
Maintenance), SC34 WG1 (on Zip), and the ODF Interoperability and
Conformance TC (OIC). The SC34 WG calls are occasional and SC34 WG6 works
to avoid collisions with the alternating-week calls of the OIC TC. The
regular schedule of the OIC TC has a call on December 15, but there are no
further calls on that TC this month, with the next call being on January 12,
    continuing on alternating weeks thereafter.

I'm free at 1400 or 1500 or 1600 on the 15th. I agree that Wednesday are
generally prone to conflict with other ODF-related calls, but we're free
of conflict for that particular week.

    Dennis,

Thanks for your comments about the time, and certainly we need to work out the optimum time of day, and day of the week, for regular calls in the future. For now I propose to leave the time as it is, because there are other participants who have the opposite problem to you, and for whom it will be very late.

However, I would very much like to speak to all members before Christmas, and will undertake to  make individual calls to those who are not able to manage the first conference call. I will send you a separate e-mail to arrange this.

    Best regards,
    Robin
