OASIS Members and other interested parties, OASIS is pleased to announce the approval and publication of a new Committee Specification by the members of the OASIS Topology and Orchestration Specification for Cloud Applications (TOSCA) TC: TOSCA Simple Profile in YAML Version 1.0 Committee Specification 01 12 June 2016 What is the TOSCA Simple Profile in YAML and why is it important? This Committee Specification aims to provide a more accessible syntax as well as a more concise and incremental expressiveness of the TOSCA DSL (Domain Specific Language). The intent is to minimize the learning curve and speed adoption for those using TOSCA to portably describe cloud applications. YAML is a human friendly data serialization standard with a syntax much easier to read and edit than XML. The specification prescribes an isomorphic rendering of a subset of TOSCA to ensure that semantics are preserved and can be transformed from XML to YAML and from YAML to XML. This is a final deliverable. Completed and approved by the TC, this OASIS Committee Specification is fully ready for implementation.
