    SMP 2.0 XML SCHEMA

The TC had a lengthy discussion about some contemplated changes to the OASIS NDR to allow multiple extension points. SMP 1.0 already makes use of multiple extension points, and it
was agreed to also include multiple extension points in SMP 2.0 regardless of any limitations in the NDR.

The philosophy of extensions in SMP 1.0 is that an SMP publisher must not produce extensions that are necessary for an SMP client to understand in order to make use of the metadata,
and that an SMP client may choose to ignore any and all extension elements. It was agreed to follow these principles for SMP 2.0 as well.

The TC briefly reviewed the latest proposed XML schema for SMP 2.0 and agreed that, with the addition of multiple extension points, the XML schema is complete as a first draft for
    SMP 2.0.
