As promised, here is one existing standardization attempt to tackle and model some of the time concepts we discussed today: http://www.w3.org/TR/owl-time/ Regards, Peter Sent from my phone - Apologies for brevity and typos: it's hard writing on a moving planet

The following ISO standard may also be relevant. It is based on GML from Open Geospatial Consortium: ISO 19108:2002 Geographic information -- Temporal schema http://www.iso.org/iso/home/store/catalogue_tc/catalogue_detail.htm?csnumber=26013 Copy of spec document is available from here: http://im.eurocontrol.int/wiki/index.php/ISO_19108,_Geographic_information_%E2%80%94_Temporal_schema Summary: http://im.eurocontrol.int/wiki/index.php/ISO_19108,_Geographic_information_%E2%80%94_Temporal_schema The standard is quite established is used heavily in many communities. Thanks, Peter. I just want to add some context.  This draft spec was published in Sept. 2006. The Semantic Web Best Practices and Deployment Working Group, the group that published it, closed effective 29 September 2006. It was discussed by the XML Schema, XSL, and XML Query Working Groups. I was among those submitting comments to the XML Query WG. We submitted our comments [1] to the group that authored this draft spec.To my knowledge, no response was ever received on these comments.                                        -- Andrew [1] comments on Time Ontology document, C.
