Subject: Rules for the conduct of localization subcommittees
UBL members,
On 15 October 2003 I alerted you that I would be proposing the
formation of two new UBL subcommittees devoted to localization:
http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200310/msg00010.html
At the UBL TC closing plenary 7 November in San Francisco I
presented proposals for the formation of these subcommittees, one
for speakers of Japanese and one for speakers of Chinese. Formal
resolutions for the establishment of these two new subcommittees
will be presented in separate mail.
The subject of this message is the adoption of rules for the
conduct of UBL localization subcommittees in general. Adoption of
these rules will ensure consistency of operation and make it
easier to form and maintain such subcommittees in the future.
The members assembled for the 7 November plenary approved a
framework for localization subcommittees that I have here moved
from slideware into formal language.
If you have no objection to the adoption of these rules for
localization subcommittees, do nothing. If you are a voting
member of the UBL TC and you object to the adoption of these
rulse, please register that objection with mail to the list
ubl@lists.oasis-open.org no later than COB 17 November 2003.
Jon Bosak
Chair, OASIS UBL TC
