Hi, everyone.   Attached is the most recent draft of the committee note on LW DITA. Carlos and I have attempted to integrate contributions from Michael, Mark, and ourselves into a cohesive whole.   The new draft includes a greatly expanded section on the specialization markup that provides much more detail about the rationalization for a simplified specialization method, additional examples, more detail on the specialization elements and attributes, and more comments.   Regards, Tim.   Attachment: LwDITA-v1.0-cn01.pdf Description: LwDITA-v1.0-cn01.pdf

Dear all, A big topic of conversation (I hope) for our Monday LwDITA call should be the specialization example included in the note. Tim's generous contribution was based on the marketing example and the Relax NG template it generated. If I understood Kris and the TC correctly, they are more interested in  an example and the resulting topic it would generate (regardless of method/approach to get there). Therefore, the note has a simple (probably too simple) example based on Michael's to-do list and customized for the note's leitmotiv of electric installations and lightbulbs. I included a resulting topic.... but we need to make the example better and include more of our specialization attributes and elements without making it a spaghetti topic (in my humble opinion, the marketing example is fettuccine and flirting with being spaghetti... too complex for an introductory note). We also need to talk about the LwDITA map and its allowed elements/attributes in XDITA, HDITA, and MDITA... I don't think we have much about that, and the note needs it.
