While I am thinking about it, has the subcommittee discussed what XDITA will permit in regard to element configuration? Element configuration covers both constraints and expansion.   If the subcommittee assumes that some users might create their own LwDITA document-type shells and apply constraints, perhaps the LwDITA document-type shells should include clear sections for constraints.   And has the subcommittee discussed expansion? Expansion is new with DITA 2.0. Basically, expansion modules enable DITA architects to apply specializations in targeted elements only, rather than globally. Here are some examples:   An architect creates a new attribute-domain specialization, and then applies it ONLY to certain table elements. An architect creates a new element-domain specialization, but makes it available only within the <section> element. An architect applies an existing domain specialization (attribute or element) ONLY to certain elements.   Best, Kris   Kristen James Eberlein Chair, OASIS DITA Technical Committee Owner, Eberlein Consulting LLC kris@eberleinconsulting.com Skype: kriseberlein; voice: +1 (919) 622-1501
