  • 1.  Extending the CybOX review period

    Posted 08-31-2016 17:36
Dear members of the CTI TC - The CybOX SC previously committed to a document freeze COB yesterday. Over the past several weeks, we have accomplished an enormous amount of work (thanks to you all!) but significant open questions and comments remain to be put to rest. In the interest of accommodating community feedback and achieving the highest quality CybOX release practicable, we have decided to extend the editorial review period for CybOX by two additional weeks. Taking into account the fact that a large number of critical SC participants will be taking part in the OASIS Borderless Cyber symposium in Brussels next week, we are targeting a document freeze 23 September. We are hopeful that we will manage to achieve the document freeze on or about 16 September however we prefer to err on the side of caution, with the aim of underpromising and overdelivering. Thanks again to all for helping us to get where we are today and for your ongoing patience as we tie up the remaining loose ends. -- Cheers, Trey ++--------------------------------------------------------------------------++ Kingfisher Operations, sprl gpg fingerprint: 85F3 5F54 4A2A B4CD 33C4 5B9B B30D DD6E 62C8 6C1D ++--------------------------------------------------------------------------++ -- "Good, Fast, Cheap: Pick any two (you can't have all three)." --RFC 1925 Attachment: signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Trey, et al, On behalf of the CTI TC, I want to extend our sincere appreciation to all of the editors and core contributors who have dedicated a good portion (if not all) of your personal and professional lives to work towards these important milestones and the best outcomes we can humanly produce. Thank you. To even *attempt* a tally of the number of hours of dedicated effort by the various members of this TC boggles my mind. For sure, despite all our forward progress, we *are* making mistakes. But we are making *new* mistakes, building on the prior efforts of this community, and moving forward together. It's been a long road, no doubt! If there's any satisfaction that I draw personally from this long effort, it's the tremendous community we've managed to build in this TC. Just speaking for myself, I am tremendously grateful to one and all. As for the "inner circle" of folks who've been walking this path for years, I regard you as my sisters and brothers in arms. Hopefully our efforts alter the playing field vis-a-vis malignant actors significantly enough that our project will be remembered as a significant turning point by the generation that succeeds us. -- Cheers, Trey ++--------------------------------------------------------------------------++ Kingfisher Operations, sprl gpg fingerprint: 85F3 5F54 4A2A B4CD 33C4 5B9B B30D DD6E 62C8 6C1D ++--------------------------------------------------------------------------++ -- "No matter how hard you push and no matter what the priority, you can't increase the speed of light." --RFC 1925 Attachment: signature.asc Description: Digital signature
