    Hi all,

    I think I have a solution.

We’ve moved the AGM to 5-6pm, reception 6-8pm.  (final answer)  sorry for the juggling schedules, there are many aspects to the scheduling that are pretty fluid.

I think its critical you are at the AGM, very important you are at some of the Reception (where the real one-on-one dialogue takes place).  Seems like you can feel free to begin your “extracurricular” activities after 7.  FWIW, the reception menu is fairly good—much more than the usual cheese and crackers.  We hope this will allow folks to  stay a while without running out early to a real meal.

Thank you for your indulgence in this,

    Scott…

As I read the schedule on the Web site, the AGM is set for 6:30 to 7:30 on Tuesday. (The Web page--http://www.oasis-open.org/events/symposium/pre_program.php--also says the reception is from 6:30 to 7:30 - are they really concurrent, or does the reception come afterwards?)

Yesterday, we had guessed that the AGM would be over by 7 p.m. and, accordingly, we said we would meet over dinner starting around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday. Given that the AGM is scheduled to run to 7:30 and that we do want to have our people attending, we could adjust our plan by a half hour and have a dinner meeting (or, as Don suggested, a room service dinner meeting in his company's room) beginning around 7:45. This does mean that we would miss the reception. However, there are luncheons and at least one other reception in the course of the first couple of days, so we should all have at least some networking opportunities.

Since we must have a working meeting (and I don't agree it's a good idea to do this on a day when Debi can't be present - we'll all be present on Tuesday, except Dave Marvit), I don't see an alternative unless it would be to skip the luncheon on Tuesday and try to cram our work into the hour available then. That seems too limited.

So, I propose we modify our plan for a working dinner meal meeting on Tuesday, expecting to begin around 7:45 p.m. We would then work through our agenda until conclusion. Is this acceptable?

Scott - This is indeed at the last minute.  When we scheduled it, we thought we were only missing a reception.  We will consider an alternative that Jane may suggest.  How long will the AGM last?

Legal XML Steering committee Members - (not an inclusive list, sorry, done by memory)-

I just noticed your SC meeting schedule for next week in New Orleans..  This conflicts with the OASIS Annual General Meeting.

This is not good.  The AGM is an important discussion forum and we will be presenting important budget and IPR information-of which you need to be aware and responsive to.  Your group represents an important portion of the OASIS community-both because you represent an important user community and a significant portion of the OASIS community.  Your input to these discussions is very important, your unique perspective is critical.

By copy of this message, I am asking Jane Harnad to identify other meeting opportunities available to you, so we can explore other options for you.  I do not doubt that some of your members are coming for the meetings only (Weds, Thurs), but a quick scan of the SC members, it seems everyone is attending the Symposium as well.  Perhaps Monday evening, with similar arrangements?

Sorry for the last minute confusion, but I do want to impress on you the importance of your community at the AGM.

    Thanks,
