As I read the schedule on the Web site, the AGM is set for 6:30 to 7:30 on Tuesday. (The Web page--http://www.oasis-open.org/events/symposium/pre_program.php--also
says the reception is from 6:30
to 7:30 - are they really concurrent, or
does the reception come afterwards?)
Yesterday, we had guessed that the AGM would be over by 7 p.m. and, accordingly, we said we would meet over dinner
starting around 7:15
p.m. Tuesday. Given
that the AGM is scheduled to run to 7:30 and that we do want to have our people
attending, we could adjust our plan by a half hour and have a dinner meeting
(or, as Don suggested, a room service dinner meeting in his company's
room) beginning around 7:45. This does mean that we would miss the reception.
However, there are luncheons and at least one other reception in the course of
the first couple of days, so we should all have at least some networking
opportunities.
Since we must have a working meeting (and I don't
agree it's a good idea to do this on a day when Debi can't be
present - we'll all be present on Tuesday, except Dave Marvit), I
don't see an alternative unless it would be to skip the luncheon on
Tuesday and try to cram our work into the hour available then. That seems too
limited.
So, I propose we modify our plan for a working dinner meal
meeting on Tuesday, expecting to begin around 7:45 p.m. We would then work through our agenda until conclusion. Is
this acceptable?
