All, During the TC meeting today it was a discussion about the CACAO's logo and therefore I designed some versions of it. I know that's not an easy task to decide/agree for a specific logo for the CACAO but here are some design alternatives I came up tonight. Please find attached a .PNG file with some explanations. I am open to your suggestions/comments.  Note! It is authentic logo design. These are great Kamer!   CACAO TC,   We have the opportunity to create a CACAO slide to be placed in a rotating presentation that will be displayed between sessions at Borderless Cyber 2019, https://us19.borderlesscyber.org/en/ . I think using the logo on the slide is a great idea.   So, as a group, you need to decide on one of these logos or suggest others. I am also open to slide content ideas. We need the slide submitted by 3 October.     Do we have a volunteer to help with slide? Are we going to go forward with one of these logos? If so, which one?   I hate to clog up the list, so after TC agrees on logo, I am happy to work directly with one or two members that are interested in CACAO marketing.   Reminder to register for Borderless Cyber 2019 - Extra 30% off for OASIS members, use 'cnsbc30partner' code OASIS.     Thanks folks! dee         Senior Manager, Development & Advocacy OASIS Advancing open standards for the information society  +1.781.425.5073 x211 (Office) +1.941.321.6733 (Cell) http://www.oasis-open.org   From: cacao@lists.oasis-open.org <cacao@lists.oasis-open.org> On Behalf Of Kamer Vishi Sent: Tuesday, September 17, 2019 8:36 PM To: cacao@lists.oasis-open.org Cc: Kamer Vishi <kamerv@ifi.uio.no> Subject: [cacao] Logo   All,   During the TC meeting today it was a discussion about the CACAO's logo and therefore I designed some versions of it. Hi Anup, We have space available prior to the start of the conference each day from 8:30 to 9:00 AM or we could reserve a table or two during lunch for the group. If you'd rather meet up after the conference ends one of the evenings -- I could help arrange for a happy hour meet up at a local restaurant. Let me know what works best. My preferred option is not listed on the ballot - just the text and graphic as dark grey or near white The logo needs to be able to be rendered both on dark background as well as bright backgrounds because both are used in software systems. If a background color is used, it is going to look out of place in a lot of contexts (people will want the logo with no background) As such I strongly think the "background" should not be part of the logo at all per-se. - Jason Keirstead Chief Architect - IBM Security Threat Management www.ibm.com/security "Would you like me to give you a formula for success? Option 6 then meant to be an option without background (and I stated it as white) with text in orange or magenta. Apologies for that.

Voters can assume that option 6 excludes a background color.

Let s just assume there will always be 2 versions.

1 color filled in. <- this is what the ballot is asking (i.e. what is your preferred color fgrnd/bgrnd combination)

2 transparent background (i.e. without background) that has both white and black text variants.

We need 2 for all the reasons Jason is pointing out.

So let s not have folks recasting votes.

    All,

During the TC meeting today it was a discussion about the CACAO's logo and therefore I designed some versions of it. I know that's not an easy task to decide/agree for a specific logo for the CACAO but here are some design alternatives I came up tonight. Please
find attached a .PNG file with some explanations. I am open to your suggestions/comments.

Note! It is authentic logo design.
