    XPS is a direct competitor to PDF, or, as some call it, a PDF killer.

    Since it is a page description language, it would be up to the XSL-FO
    engine to generate it from the FO, as an alternative to PDF or PostScript.

    If you want to read the XPS spec, you can download it from Microsoft's
    site, but the spec is in XPS, so you will need to also download Microsoft's
    XPS reader as well. Another editorial comment withheld.
