Hello,

I used DocBook in the normal way with Books, Sections, Chapters, now I want to switch to Topics and Assemblies.

However, I wonder if the olink target data file generation works with an Assembly file as the entry point??

Not currently, but that is a planned update at some future time. For
now, you will need to assemble a DocBook document from the assembly
file, and run the olink collection process on that DocBook document.
