docbook-apps

Hi there,

I posted a while back a couples of issues with roundtrip doing a
wordml to docbook conversion. Ref:

Steve Ball mentioned he is working on the 'next gen' of roundtrip.
Is there any update on that work ? BTW is it going to move to XSLT 2.0
(simple curiosity) ?

As a side note is there anyone else trying to convert a 'human
written' document into a 'machine' readable document ? I have done
very little progress for extracting some info (mostly
<informaltable/>):

than docbook ?

Mathieu,

we are working on a Document Standards Interoperability Framework that
includes roundtrips from DITA, DocBook and ODF (eventually MS Office
Open XML).

Details are now available in a whitepaper at:
http://www.flatironssolutions.com/downloads/Interoperability_Framework.pdf

We are also looking to bring this to OASIS as a full TC, and are
currently working on a charter for this effort.

Flatirons Solutions has developed a set of initial working transforms
for this effort as well.

Hi Mathieu,

All of my changes are checked in to the Subversion repository. The
latest release of the DocBook XSL stylesheets includes the "Next Gen"
system.

Lately I've been doing a some work on the roundtripping system, so
I'll revisit your bug report and check to see if it is still occurring.

Is the OOo output now fixed, so OOo does not open it literally as XML
(http://bugs.debian.org/429477)?

I think I can answer that:

cd docbook/xsl/roundtrip
svn up
xsltproc -o normalised.xml wordml-normalise.xsl 07_03pu.xml
xsltproc -o sections.xml wordml-sections.xsl normalised.xml
xsltproc -o blocks.xml wordml-blocks.xsl sections.xml
xsltproc -o my-docbook.xml wordml-final.xsl blocks.xml 2>&1| sort | uniq

returns (*)

I believe the smaller examples entered in the bug tracker should
reproduce those issues. Basically Heading1, ... are all defined within
the word document, I am not sure why there are not remap correctly.
