Yes, I get your point. OTOH in TDG there is written (in reference page
for imagedata):
"Lengths must be expressed as a decimal value followed immediately by an
optional unit of measure or a percentage."
So the question is how closely grammar should follow DocBook
specification. More restrictive grammar can be to restrictive for some
users but also can catch some errors that will break processing
toolchain later.
