Dear members of potentially relevant OASIS TCs: Please note that we recently received the appended liaison inquiry statement from relatively new SWG5 of ISO/IEC JTC1, which indicates their interest in standards cooperation on Internet of Things (IoT) projects and information. Among other things, SWG5 meets late next month, in the United States. Please let us know if any OASIS TCs wish assistance in establishing liaison arrangements with SWG5, or wish to suggest other ways in which OASIS ought to consider interacting with this new IoT panel. Thanks Geoff. We spent a fair amount of time working with and assisting the SGIP, in its first incarnation; a number of OASIS standards also now are SGIP Catalog standards. I expect we'd be happy to work with MQTT TC, if your folks also want to pursue that course, and there are sufficient overlaps to put bodies where needed so as to populate a liaison relationship. Independent of that, we're also interested to see what kind of virtuous overlaps might exist between MQTT and JTC1/SWG5's areas of focus. I'm sure fairly SWG5 would be happy to provision a liaison with your TC. Anyone interested? https://www.oasis-open.org/policies-guidelines/liaison#tcliaison Cordially Jamie James Bryce Clark, General Counsel OASIS: Advancing open standards for the information society http://www.oasis-open.org/who/staff.php#clark www.identi.ca/JamieXML www.twitter.com/JamieXML http://t.sina.cn/jamiexml http://www.slideshare.net/jamiexml http://facebook.com/oasis.open On Sun, Jul 28, 2013 at 4:34 PM, Geoff Brown <geoff.brown@m2mi.com> wrote: > Thanks Jamie. > > I have included MQTT in on the discussion.
