Hi Patrick, Patrick Durusau schrieb: Regina, Thanks! The SVG standard does not limit svg:font-face-uri, etc. to SVG fonts but are you saying that LibreOffice embeds non-SVG fonts using this mechanism? Yes, it embeds the fonts I use in my texts, if its license allows it. I have got LibreOffice on Windows. I cannot test it on MAC or Linux, but not working there would be a bug of LibreOffice. Could I for example embed an OpenType font using this mechanism? Yes. If limited to SVG fonts, should we note that limitation in the response, close the issue and then discuss in OFFICE-2600? It is not limited to SVG fonts. OFFICE-2600 is about where to store such font files in the package. That is an independent problem. The needed elements for storing the information in content.xml and styles.xml already exist. Kind regards Regina Hope you are having a great weekend! https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-228 Font embedding is already possible in ODF 1.2. LibreOffice has implemented it. It uses the element "svg:font-face-uri", child of "svg:font-face-src", child of "style:font-face". The font-file is stored in a folder "Fonts" in the package and as element "office:binary-data" in the flat format. As far as I see, nothing of that violates the standard. There exists issue OFFICE-2600 "folder structure for scripts, media..."
https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-2600 I suggest to use that issue, if it is intended to standardize the structure for storing the font-files in the package. My suggestion: Comment in issue OFFICE-228, that font embedding is already possible with ODF1.2 and that the structure will be discussed in OFFICE-2600. Then close the issue with resolution "no action". Kind regards Regina Patrick Durusau schrieb: Greetings! The first 20 JIRA issues for the ODF TC teleconference on 28 September 2015 are attached. Once the TC has gone over the issues and we have agreed on targets/actions, I will post the corrected file to the document repository. Questions, comments, etc. welcome. The more we can do on the email list the more effective we can be during the teleconference. Hope everyone has started a great weekend!
