The problem that Helen correctly points out is that the ODF testsuite on http://testsuite.opendocumentfellowship.org/ incorrectly uses xmlns:svg="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" in a number of places.

Ah. I read too fast.
OK. But then this was reported to the wrong place, it should probably be reported to the opendocumentfellowship people :-)
