OASIS Members, This is a brief reminder that this Monday, 18 March 2013 is the deadline for joining the Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) TC in time to be eligible to vote at the first meeting. If you want to join the TC as a voting member, you must take action to join by the end of that day. **Co-Proposers, please note!** Being listed as a co-proposer of the TC does not automatically add you to the TC roster. If you are listed as a co-proposer on the charter, you must still join the TC in order to agree to the OASIS policies that govern it. To join, go to the main TC page at https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/mqtt/ and click the "join group" link under the Roster entry. Please let me know if you have any questions or any problems with the above steps. /chet ---------------- Chet Ensign Director of Standards Development and TC Administration OASIS: Advancing open standards for the information society http://www.oasis-open.org Primary: +1 973-996-2298 Mobile: +1 201-341-1393

Chet, a question I've gotten: Can other employees of OASIS Member companies which have members on the TC, participate in the call kickoff meeting/call as non-voting members? Can you shed some light on this? ......................Scott From:         Chet Ensign <chet.ensign@oasis-open.org> To:         members@lists.oasis-open.org, mqtt@lists.oasis-open.org Date:         03/14/2013 10:30 AM Subject:         [mqtt] IMPORTANT: Deadline approaching to join new MQTT TC as an eligible voter Sent by:         <mqtt@lists.oasis-open.org> OASIS Members, This is a brief reminder that this Monday, 18 March 2013 is the deadline for joining the Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) TC in time to be eligible to vote at the first meeting. Hi Scott,  There is no limit to the number of people from any company who can join a TC, either as members or as observers. So even if others from the company have joined, that doesn't limit them from joining.  If they want to monitor the activities of the TC without being active in its work, then they can join as Observers. That subscribes them to the mailing list and allows them to join in meetings whenever they want to though they cannot, as Observers, take part in the discussion.  If they want to be members but not be counted towards quorum nor have to maintain attendance in order to maintain voting rights, then they can ask to be Persistent Non-Voting Members. That gets them on the mailing list and lets them participate in meetings and do everything save for voting.  Does this answer the question?  /chet On Thu, Mar 14, 2013 at 11:16 AM, Scott de Deugd < dedeugd@us.ibm.com > wrote: Chet, a question I've gotten: Can other employees of OASIS Member companies which have members on the TC, participate in the call kickoff meeting/call as non-voting members?
