No hurry, Chet, thanks. Have a great vacation!
To clarify one thing for the benefit of TC members who might not be familiar with this process: you said we may need to handle these as provisional registrations. Actually the media type registration for
application/sarif-external-properties+json will be fine. If is only the URI scheme registration for
sarif that might have to be provisional , because RFC7595 says that a permanent URI registration needs to be backed by a standards document that specifies things that our SARIF spec doesn t say.

Hi Larry - I am leaving for vacation shortly so I'll take this up when I get back. You may indeed need to handle these as provisional registrations. We had to do that for a set of OData headers just this month. I'll need to confirm whether
this is going to take a formal standards document at least being in the works. I'll get it week after next.
Best,

Hi Chet,
Thanks for liaising with IANA to help us register the media type application/sarif+json. I see that TCADMIN-3008<
https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/TCADMIN-3008 >,
which tracked the registration, is closed.
Our GitHub work item oasis-tcs/sarif-spec#182<
https://github.com/oasis-tcs/sarif-spec/issues/182 >
specifies two additional registrations:
* The media type application/sarif-external-properties+json. This describes a SARIF external properties file<
https://docs.oasis-open.org/sarif/sarif/v2.1.0/os/sarif-v2.1.0-os.html#_Toc34317910 >,
an auxiliary file that allows a subset of SARIF information to be shared among multiple SARIF files.
Action: Would you please open a ticket to track this work. I already have the template I need. I will send you a draft when it's ready, as I did for the SARIF media type.
* The URI scheme sarif, which allows you to specify any sub-object within a SARIF file.
Action: Could you please send me the appropriate template, and again, open a tracking ticket?
Thanks,
Larry
