  • 1.  Giant .txt file in ODF 1.1 Errata 01 PRD01 Materials

Hi Chet, At < http://docs.oasis-open.org/office/v1.1/errata01/csprd01/ > there is a 16MB file named OpenDocument-v1.1-errata01-csprd01-complete.txt. That file is also included in OpenDocument-v1.1-errata01-csprd01.zip. On inspection, this is an HTML file. I can't discern any material difference between it and the smaller OpenDocument-v1.1-errata01-csprd01-complete.html that is already on the site and in the Zip of all files. There is one oddity - the links in the .txt file go to the document on the OASIS site, rather than being relative to the opened document. All of the images in the document are also fetched from the OASIS site. The OpenDocument-v1.1-errata01-csprd01-complete.html has links (e.g., in the ToC) that are local fragment references and the images are accessed locally if the .zip content is all extracted into a single folder. The .html version seems to do everything that's required. Can we ditch the .txt one? - Dennis

Hi Dennis and all, I must have created that file by accident somewhere in the processing, and didn't notice it among the clutter of so many files. (By the way, if HTML generation from OpenDocument is anything you can influence, can you suggest modifying that process so it will put the image files into a separate directory/folder?) Since the Public Review announcement has already gone out and people may be accessing the files at any time, we have a strong aversion to making a change in published material.  Since it is embedded in the ZIP file and listed in the manifest file, making the change is much more than just a matter of removing the file. Especially since there must be at least one more publication (i.e., Approved Errata) in which that file will certainly be eliminated, it probably does no harm to leave it in place.  There are no links to it from anywhere. Certainly, any comments about that file can be immediately be discounted in dealing with Public Review comments. Of course, Chet is the Decider....   :^) Best regards, Paul On Mon, Jun 3, 2013 at 2:54 PM, Dennis E. Glad to know that I'm a Decisioner. ( http://doonesbury.slate.com/strip/archive/2013/05/02 )  I prefer to leave it alone for the public review. As Paul points out, key thing is that we'll make sure it is correct for the Approved Errata.  Is that a problem for you guys?  /chet On Mon, Jun 3, 2013 at 3:37 PM, Paul Knight < paul.knight@oasis-open.org > wrote: Hi Dennis and all, I must have created that file by accident somewhere in the processing, and didn't notice it among the clutter of so many files. No problem, now that it is clear what it is and that it is not needed. - Dennis From: office@lists.oasis-open.org [ mailto:office@lists.oasis-open.org ] On Behalf Of Chet Ensign Sent: Tuesday, June 4, 2013 07:44 AM To: Paul Knight Cc: Dennis Hamilton; Rob Weir; ODF TC List Subject: [office] Re: Giant .txt file in ODF 1.1 Errata 01 PRD01 Materials Glad to know that I'm a Decisioner.
