Had a good conversation last Friday on possible approaches to how CAP 2.0
might better handle richer geo-content without breaking the current model or
backwards compatibility.
We spent some time considering the Canadian provincial activity on a
profile of CAP for the Canadian community. Especially focused on
the event location layer. This capability allows an easy extension
mechanism for richer content. This is critical for uptake and adoption in
Canada. Can also map from CAP to GeoRSS simple and embed in an ATOM feed.
This may be a viable approach rather than enhancing the geometry elements in
CAP.
So, we will continue discussion on CAP 2.0 would be good to include
event location references.
The group also agreed that there should not be any presentation
information in CAP. Also, need to remain transport agnostic.
Next teleconference in two weeks from last Friday.
