    Hi,

I had to clarify what the difference between endnotes and footnotes is,
especially if footnotes are displyed at the end of a document.

Footnotes are normaly displayed at the end of a page, while endnotes are
collected at the end of a document. One needs both, because some authors
want to use both concept simultaniously. For footnotes there are a few
options, like restating the numbering at page or chapter bounds, that do
not exist for endnotes, because they are not very useful there.

In OpenOffice.org there is an option to display footnotes at the
document end as well. They in fact look the same as endnotes in this case.

    Best regards

    Michael
