    position opening

    Researcher - Safeguarding Australia Research Program
    National ICT Australia (NICTA), Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
    
    The NICTA Queensland Research Laboratory currently focuses on the  
    Disaster Prediction, Response, and Recovery (DisPRR) project  
    investigating the disaster and emergency management sector and will  
    lead to improving the ICT technologies, devices, information systems,  
    and services in that sector. A position is available for a Researcher  
    in the information management and integration area of the DisPRR  
    project, where the appointee will become part of the DisPRR team.
    
    The appointee will conduct high quality independent research and  
    contribute substantially to projects in collaboration with other  
    program staff, researchers elsewhere in NICTA and outside partners.
    The appointee will be responsible for the definition and conduct of  
    scientific investigations related to information management for  
    disaster prevention, response and recovery, focusing on information  
    modeling, representation, integration, and situational awareness  
    related to the emergency and disaster application area.
